Pegasus Late Pick-4

PegasusLogo

Let’s take a look at the late Pick-4 on the Pegasus card today at Gulfstream.

Race 9 – #1 Marley’s Freedom (10-1), who won’t be anywhere near that morning line price, is our top pick dropping out of the G1 La Brea and co-A with #7 Curlin’s Approval (2-1). We also want to use #5 Apologynotaccepted (12-1) who has run some huge races here and turns back out of longer races last summer as she makes her first start for Brendan Walsh.

A – 1, 7
B – 5
C – none

Race 10 – The Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint is competitive and we’ll use four. Our two As will be #8 Pay Any Price (3-1), the dominant speed, and the top closer #6 Rainbow Heir (6-1), a Jersey-bred making his final career start. Breeders Cup runner-up #7 Richard’s Boy (7-2) and #2 Conquest Enforcer (12-1), who is second off the layoff and has run some good sprints in the past, are Bs.

A – 6, 8
B – 2, 7
C – none

Race 11 – As noted in the previous post, we like #1 Westit (15-1) here. She should get some pace and the favorite is vulnerable. We’ll also use #9 Stormy Victoria (7-2) as an A, while using #11 Celestine (5-2) as a B with longshot #6 Always Thinking (15-1).

A – 1, 9
B – 6, 11
C – none

Race 12 – #10 Gun Runner (4-5) will win if he runs back to his excellent Breeders Cup Classic race. The biggest concern is the poor post position that he drew. #5 Collected (8-1) has run some strong races in the past and was ridden poorly last time. If the favorite falters, he’s probably the upsetter. #6 Gunnevera (15-1) is probably not good enough to win, but he’s run his two best races in his last two starts, could get some pace here, and likes Gulfstream. If our As win the first three legs, we’d hate to see him win and not hit this bet. We’ll toss him in as a C.

A – 10
B – 5
C – 6

The full play is $62 and the ticket is below the fold.
