Let’s look at the Breeders Cup Pick-4 for Friday, covering races 6-9: the Juvenile Fillies Turf, the Dirt Mile, the Juvenile Turf, and the Distaff.
Juvenile Fillies Turf – This race looks, at least on the win end, to be either Aidan O’Brien or Chad Brown. September (O’Brien) and Rushing Fall (Brown) are our top picks and we’ll use those two as our “A” horses while mixing in Happily as a “B.”
Dirt Mile – We’ll use a few in this race but it will be centered around Accelerate, our lone “A” horse. Sharp Azteca and Awesome Slew are “B” horses and Battle of Midway is a “C.”
Juvenile Turf – This is the race among this sequence where we’ll have the most coverage. We do like Masar, but there are enough viable alternatives where we don’t want to totally just lean on him and be done. Masar is an “A” and we’ll also use Voting Control as an “A.” James Garfield and Beckford are “B” horses and Untaimed Domain and Mendelssohn are “C” horses.
Distaff – As noted in the preview, we do like Elate but Stellar Wind is the one to beat. They are our two “A” horses. If we are only alive to them, we’ll take our chances. We’ll use Paradise Woods as a “B” as a legitimate threat to wire the field.
Here’s the layout of the entire play.
